JACOB DAVID BEN ISRAEL ISSAR
JACOB DAVID BEN ISRAEL ISSAR (1808–1863), talmudist and kabbalist. Jacob was a pupil of the ḥasidic rabbi Judah Leib of Leszno and served as a rabbi in Kozienice and later in Wyszogrod. He was the author of glosses and novellae to the Sifra, published with the text, together with a commentary from manuscripts in Jacob's possession of Samson of Sens, under the title Haggahot Maharid (1866).
